Paul Bannick, an award-winning wildlife photographer who worked successfully in the computer software industry before concentrating on his passion for wilderness conservation, is currently the Director of Development for Conservation Northwest, a nonprofit dedicated to protecting wild areas from the Pacific Coast to the Canadian Rockies. His first book, The Owl and the Woodpecker, was published in 2008 followed by Woodpeckers of North America: A Naturalist's Handbook in 2014. In 2011, Paul took first place among professionals in Birds and Their Habitat category in Audubon's prestigious annual photography contest. His images can be found in numerous bird guides and have been featured in Audubon, Sunset, Birds and Blooms and Pacific Northwest, among others. Paul lives in Seattle.
